I am an intelligent and informed fan of the Conservatives...strange.

Conservative ideology assumes at its core that government is too big and interferes too much in how our society functions. Also, Steven Harper: tough on crime, with longer harsher sentences for repeat violent offenders; going to improve the military; limit terms of senators; is NOT going to re-address abortion or gay marriage; realistic and attainable environmental goals; making EI available to people that are self employed (ie women, for mat leave); stronger economy with lower taxes for everyone; strengthening business. Conservatives give $ directly to families to do with as they see fit, ultimately trusting parents to make the "best" decisions as to what is good for their children, rather than deciding for them..... I love the conservatives. And I am now spelling Steven Harper correctly.

I believe that as we live in Canada, we owe it to ourselves to be informed and have an opinion. Even when it disagrees with mine. Although obviously I am correct.

Haha this is what someone wrote on the "Why are you voting Conservative?" wall of my Conservative group:

"I'm voting Conservative because I'm narrow-minded and incurious; I'm willfully unaware of how Conservative policy affects both local and international affairs, and am easily convinced by the simple answers the Party offers for complex social and political questions.

Because I haven't travelled much and am not involved with my community my perspective on the world is extremely narrow. I believe Canada should be politically and culturally insular.

I like the word 'libertarian' because it sounds like 'liberty' and liberty means I have a right to tell the queers, the Chinese, and the Jamaicans that if they can't accept my backwards cultural mentality we should chuck them out. I also think 'liberty' also means 'low taxes'.

I watch a lot of TV and believe almost everything I see on it, but I haven't read a book since high school, and haven't been to see a play or concert in the past five years."

Especially as it sounds exactly like something my crazy sister would say. She who refuses to choose a party or candidate and seems to hate everyone, but will argue passionately and sarcastically against almost everything.
